I am personally committed to the study, research, preservation and promotion of old-style karate. I have been on this lifetime quest since 1999, and it is no accident that one day I found the karate pioneer of pioneers, the researcher of researchers, my karate mentor and teacher McCarthy Hanshi.
It is precisely because of my committment above that I reached out to Sensei, joined his international research society on the very first day I met him in July 2002. After careful study of the priceless and truly unique knowledge, I was priviliged to become a student of his in March 2003, which marked the birth of a humble Koryukan Frederick.
As part of the same committment, I have established various outreach initiatives over the years, since as early as 2001, and continue to do so. Today, our friendship has extended to over 10 dojos in our area and the overall DC Metropolitan area, and our mailing list has grown tremendously.
This has earned our dojo the title of Maryland State Local Area Representative (SHIBUCHO) for the IRKRS, which we maintain since March 2004.
I am dedicating this section of the website to our OUTREACH PROGRAM.
